Who We Are
Dr. Ernest Lai attained his BSc. in biochemistry from McMaster University, and then completed his dental training at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. To follow his commitment to patient care, he studied an additional 12 months in a post-graduate dental residency, Advanced Education in General Dentistry, at the Case School of Dental Medicine. During his AEGD training, he attained experience in patient management and patient care, implantology, and with managing more complex and challenging treatments.
He understands that dentistry can be sometimes stressful, frightening and confusing to patients. As such, he takes the time to listen and discuss issues in such a way to promote a more relaxing and comfortable experience. He genuinely cares about his patients, and his gentle and caring nature is expressed in how he practices.
Dr. Lai continues to invest in patient care by taking courses to serve his patients better. He enjoys incorporating new technologies and techniques to be able to provide more customized care and services to his patients.
Abby brings over 30 years of dental experience. Her focus is providing informative and preventative oral health care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. She is involved in local outreach, and hopes to continue to volunteer her time both locally and internationally.
Angela graduated at George Brown College as a Level 2 Dental Assistant. She has been working with Rio Dental Centre since 2014
Deborah will be the first smile you’ll see when entering our office. As office administrator, Deborah makes it her responsibility to maintain a welcoming and pleasurable atmosphere whenever you visit Rio Dental Centre. With extensive experience in the dental industry, she has the knowledge and expertise to communicate accurately and ensure the high-quality service you deserve. She is prepared to answer any questions or concerns you might have about your treatment, insurance or payment plan, making sure you are comfortable with the information you have been given.
